Domain transactions

A clear path from agreement to control.

The exact process depends on the domain, registrar and agreed payment method, but a straightforward transaction normally follows four stages.

01 / 04

Terms agreed

The parties confirm the domain, price, payment route, transfer method and any timing requirements in writing.

02 / 04

Payment or escrow

Payment may be handled through an established escrow or marketplace service appropriate to the transaction. Use of a service does not imply a formal partnership with that provider.

03 / 04

Domain transfer

The domain is transferred through an account push or registrar transfer, depending on the registrar and buyer preference.

04 / 04

Buyer control

The buyer confirms control of the domain in the receiving registrar account.
